Honors in Neuroscience
Departmental Honors: Departmental Honors in Neuroscience is a program designed to honor some of our best students who have achieved excellence both in the classroom and directed neuroscience research. Students are NOT required to be a member of the University Honors Program to complete Departmental Honors in Neuroscience.
University Honors: The Honors Program provides an academic and social climate in which students of high academic potential can find a community of classmates with similar scholarly goals. Students take two special, limited enrollment seminars which provide a supportive environment for, often interdisciplinary, intellectual inquiry. The Program culminates in independent scholarly research which produces a senior thesis project within the student's major area of study.
Beta Beta Beta: Some Neuroscience majors choose to double major in Biology. Tri-Beta is the Biology national honor society. This group strives to foster more student interest in research and scholarly activity. Members tutor underclassmen, discuss their ongoing research endeavors, and cosponsor events with the Department of Biology.
Psi Chi: Some Neuroscience majors choose to double major in Psychology. Psi Chi is the Psychology national honor society. Psi Chi seeks to maintain excellence and support research in the field of psychology, at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
